We went to the LCECU today. Spent some time in the OPD. I guess I lucked out and got paired with a doctor who was willing to teach. He would give me a medial history prior to the patient coming in and then would translate what the patient was saying.
1. Saw a 35 year old woman with mental retardation due to hypoxia during a difficult birth
2. Palpated a uterus of a 22 week old pregnant female
3. Doctor taught me how to use we pregnseny wheel. Then asked me several "quiz questions"
4. A pregnant cervix feels like an earlobe. A non-pregnant cervix feels like the tip of a nose.
5. Doctor knew of many other doctors who had ties to Wayne State University SOM.
